First, you need to decide whether to focus on Sudoku (and variants) or more varied Puzzles.

Puzzle Competitions
The biggest title in competitive puzzling is the World Sudoku Championship and World Puzzle Championship. These are held annually, in person, with solvers who have qualified through their national puzzle federation.
There are also online competitions held throughout the year on various websites. Click here to learn about these.
Invitational Side Tournaments
There are big winners, but every competition there are plenty of other wins to be had.
